Florida Correctional Officer Arrested

ARCADIA, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections’ (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrest of Correctional Officer Vanica Clermond. Clermond is charged with one count of introduction of contraband and one count of possession of narcotics.

Following the arrest Clermond was transported the Desoto County Jail. The OIG acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by State Attorney Ed Brodsky of the 12th Judicial Circuit of Florida and Desoto County Sheriff James F. Potter.

119.071[2][e], F.S., exempting all information “revealing the substance of a confession” by a person arrested until there is a final disposition in the case.
