Visitor Contraband Interdiction | June 11 – June 17, 2019
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.
Columbia Correctional Institution: On June 1, staff discovered a visitor traded watches with an inmate during visitation. Law enforcement was contacted.
As Florida's largest state agency, the Department of Corrections employs 24,000 members statewide, incarcerates approximately 96,000 inmates and supervises nearly 166,000 offenders in the community.
