Visitor Contraband Interdiction | September 17 – September 23, 2019
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.
Hamilton Correctional Institution: On September 22, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of synthetic marijuana inside the institution. The visitor was arrested for introduction of contraband.
As Florida's largest state agency, the Department of Corrections employs 24,000 members statewide, incarcerates approximately 95,000 inmates and supervises nearly 164,000 offenders in the community.
