FDC Assault Advisories | May 1 - May 7, 2020

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Santa Rosa Annex:  On May 1, Inmate William Thompson (V05471) assaulted an officer striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake Correctional Institution:  On May 2, Inmate Jason Godwin (P36483) assaulted an officer by throwing and striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Annex:  On May 2, Inmate Karim Aime (Q25848) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Florida Women’s Reception Center:  On May 3, Inmate Octavia Bowman (J49516) assaulted an officer by punching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution:  On May 4, Inmate Montel Howard (N27865) assaulted an officer by throwing and striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lake Correctional Institution:  On May 5, Inmate Johnny Rodriguez (M67533) assaulted an officer by pulling their hands into the cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution:  On May 6, Inmate Gregory Brown (J39575) assaulted officers by punching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution:  On May 6, Inmate Juan Langley (982926) assaulted officers by striking, biting and scratching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
