FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | June 5 - June 11, 2020

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On June 5, Inmate Justin Parrish (J53327) assaulted a staff member by grabbing their hands. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries..

Northwest Florida Reception Center: : On June 5, Inmate Mark Simmons (331276) assaulted an officer by striking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Dade Correctional Institution:: On June 5, Inmate Kenny Davis (122889) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Jefferson Correctional Institution: On June 8, Inmate Roosevelt Walker (063386) assaulted multiple officers by striking and biting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Wakulla Annex: On June 9, Inmate David Witman (F90440) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Wakulla Annex: On June 9, Inmate Donald Kautz (E43673) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On June 9, Inmate Shawntrell Church (R20573) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lowell Annex: On June 10, Inmate Brenda Yancy (635615) assaulted an officer by throwing a food tray at them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On June 11, Inmate Antwan Dilworth (N25049) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On June 11, Inmate Charles Hines (134634) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Walton Correctional Institution: On June 11, Inmate Michael Jones (136286) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
