FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | February 22 – February 28, 2022

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Walton Correctional Institution: On February 22, Inmate Wendell Currin (R58567) assaulted officers by kicking their leg and striking them in the chest and abdomen with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: : On February 22, Inmate Jorge Navarrete (B13974) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: : On February 22, Inmate David Hill (X36240) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 22, Inmate Dwayne Hudson (B10540) assaulted an officer by striking their face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 22, Inmate Marvin Pace (B02617) assaulted an officer by grabbing and scratching their right arm and hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Columbia Annex: : On February 23, Inmate Dejuan Jefferson (C90505) assaulted an officer by striking them with a tablet. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Central Florida Reception Center: : On February 23, Inmate James Williams (T03649) assaulted an officer by elbowing them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Franklin Correctional Institution: : On February 23, Inmate Jamil Thomas (J61907) assaulted an officer by stabbing them in the neck and back of the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Graceville Correctional Facility: : On February 23, Inmate Arvin Rogers (K21100) assaulted an officer by striking them in the left shoulder and chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Liberty Correctional Institution: : On February 23, Inmate Victor Dozier (C06165) assaulted an officer by striking them with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: : On February 23, Inmate Marcus West (W40471) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 24, Inmate Marvin Pace (B02617) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: : On February 24, Inmate Daniel Johnson (Q31484) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Wakulla Annex: : On February 24, Inmate Arduwan Collier (E36059) assaulted officers by biting them in the knee and kicking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Wakulla Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Jasper Tisdale (B09987) assaulted an officer by striking them multiple times in the torso with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Mark Higgins (166665) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Julio Alvarez (L25010) assaulted officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hamilton Annex: : On February 25, Inmate Charles Johnson (B07521) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Phillip Alphonse (148735) assaulted officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Lance Carter (A51159) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: : On February 25, Inmate Phillip Alphonse (148735) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Cross City Correctional Institution: : On February 26, Inmate Curtis Daniels (V04535) assaulted an officer by kicking them on the right shin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Wakulla Annex: : On February 26, Inmate Matthew Ballein (U60170) assaulted an officer by kicking them on the right leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: : On February 27, Inmate Lovenson Mose (H13009) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 27, Inmate Marvin Pace (B02617) assaulted an officer by grabbing their wrist and striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 28, Inmate Marlin Joseph (W49706) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: : On February 28, Inmate Marlin Joseph (W49706) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hamilton Correctional Institution: : On February 28, Inmate Bryan Douglas (J80709) assaulted officers by pushing them and grabbing their IDs. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Florida State Prison: : On February 28, Inmate David Anderson (Q07836) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Graceville Correctional Facility: : On February 28, Inmate James Banks (A51832) assaulted an employee and officer by slapping their arms. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the employee and officer and noted injuries.
