FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | May 3– May 9, 2022

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Homestead Correctional Institution: On May 3, Inmate Nioshka Bello (155801) assaulted an employee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On May 3, Inmate Christopher Tolbert (E23776) assaulted officers by striking them in the face and upper torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On May 3, Inmate Michael Hodge (K69812) assaulted an officer by striking them in the side of the mouth. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Wakulla Annex: On May 4, Inmate James Jones (E45743) assaulted an officer by elbowing them in the stomach. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On May 4, Inmate Germaine Harris (312157) assaulted officers by punching them on the upper thigh and grabbing their forearm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On May 4, Inmate Romain Thomas (B09177) assaulted officers by rushing at them and punching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Cross City Correctional Institution: On May 4, Inmate Steven Cantrell (B11973) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the thigh. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Blackwater Correctional Facility: On May 5, Inmate Charles Newbold (R33493) assaulted an officer by choking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Avon Park Work Camp: On May 5, Inmate Cornelius Dirden (V47774) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hamilton Annex: On May 5, Inmate Willie Miller (094565) assaulted an officer by striking them with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On May 5, Inmate Anthony Vital (F10716) assaulted an officer by biting them and striking them in the torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lowell Annex: On May 6, Inmate Cynthia Ford (154583) assaulted an officer by striking them in the chest with a closed fist and kicking them in the abdomen and leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Columbia Annex: On May 6, Inmate Reginald West (529131) assaulted an officer by striking them with a broom stick. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lowell Annex: On May 6, Inmate Donna Madden (F20564) assaulted an officer by striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: On May 6, Inmate James Meredith (H41107) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On May 6, Inmate Johnny Burgess (U05762) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake City Correctional Facility: On May 8, Inmate Jeremiah Hawk (Y71190) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face and neck. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Florida Women’s Reception Center: On May 9, Inmate Jimesha Mitchell (S81426) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On May 9, Inmate Arthur Decarvalho (157471) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the abdominal area. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On May 9, Inmate Eric Jerry (E80720) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: On May 9, Inmate Joshua Neipert (S32932) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On May 9, Inmate Richard Grissom-Rodgers (M88907) assaulted an employee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
