FDC Assault Advisories | July 27 – August 02, 2022

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Wakulla Correctional Institution: On July 27, Inmate Franklin Higginbotham (123594) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake Correctional Institution: On July 27, Inmate Joey Smelley  (P42104) assaulted an officer by striking them in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Desoto Annex: On July 28, Inmate Sean Spencer (J48443) assaulted an officer by striking them in the eye and putting them in a choke hold. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

South Florida Reception Center: On July 28, Inmate Roderick Henry (B14187) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Dade Correctional Institution: On July 29, Inmate Cecongie Bradwell (E29997) assaulted an officer by striking them in the eye. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Wakulla Correctional Institution: On July 29, Inmate Franklin Higginbotham (123594) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On July 29, Inmate Renardo Scott (M44504) assaulted an officer by striking them in the forehead. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On July 30, Inmate Zebelede Garrison (B12696) assaulted an officer by puncturing their arm with an improvised weapon. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Cross City Correctional Institution: On July 31, Inmate Sergio Morgan-Wideman (V52234) assaulted an officer by striking them in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On August 1, Inmate Jalen Wisher-White (U70037) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On August 1, Inmate Darrell Logan (312757) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Cross City Correctional Institution: On August 1, Inmate Gerrod Allen (V33554) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On August 2, Inmate Michael Chambliss (125274) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Reception and Medical Center : On August 2, Inmate Gerrod Allen (V33554) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On August 2, Inmate Cristobal Santana (G90443) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lake Correctional Institution: On August 2, Inmate Eric Gray (359588) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On August 2, Inmate Michael Chambliss (125274) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On August 2, Inmate Fernandito Carpio (X81705) an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
