FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | December 28, 2023 – January 3, 2024
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 3, inmate Markell Moore (B16368) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Liberty Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 3, inmate Curtis Clemons (B41511) assaulted multiple correctional officers by throwing an object at them, then striking, kicking and biting them. The incident was captured on camera.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 3, inmate Rishard Brown Jr. (X64139) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 2, inmate Bacilio Martinez (X93450) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 2, inmate Stephen Trusty (Q01981) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Calhoun Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 31, inmate Josue Gomez-Villa (T85583) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Calhoun Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 31, inmate Robert Hallock (K84465) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Liberty Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, inmate Jamal Wodford (Q32528) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s arm. The incident was captured on camera.
Dade Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, inmate Darryl Vann (X52016) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the arm. The incident was captured on camera.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, inmate Todd Warthen (I11370) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Martin Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, inmate Eric Wells (B11273) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s arm. The incident was captured on camera.
Florida State Prison: On Saturday, December 30, inmate James Murzike (L07713) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer and attempting to pull the officer into the door. The incident was captured on camera.
Liberty Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Gregory Brown (J45525) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing the officer to the ground. The incident was captured on camera.
Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Jaderrick Brown (A00611) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Gulf Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Edgar Briones (C30063) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing a food tray into the officer’s chest. The incident was captured on camera.
Martin Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Rodolfo Velasquez (B15794) assaulted a correctional officer by charging into the officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Walton Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Jerome Thurston (K50905) assaulted a correctional officer by putting the officer in a chokehold. The incident was captured on camera.
Jackson Correctional Institution: On Thursday, December 28, inmate Javier Bermudez (T97224) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the midsection. The incident was captured on camera.
