FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | August 30 - September 05, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On August 30, Inmate Victor Zayas (X80168) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Martin Correctional Institution: On August 30, Inmate James Sydnor (M71458) assaulted an officer by shutting a door on their arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On August 30, Inmate Trallas White (T39882) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Florida Women Reception Center: On August 31, Inmate Gila Hankins (V90603) assaulted an officer by striking them with her food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On August 31, Inmate Andre Gomez (U29864) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lancaster Correctional Institution: On August 31, Inmate Royce Paul (C51004) assaulted officers by biting one officer on the hand and biting another officer on the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Wakulla Annex: On August 31, Inmate Eddie Smith (S31754) assaulted an officer by cutting their neck with a pen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Polk Correctional Institution: On August 31, Inmate David White (N29067) assaulted an officer by grabbing their wrist and pulling them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Wakulla Correctional Institution: On September 1, Inmate Eddie Smith (S31754) assaulted an officer by grabbing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Suwannee Correctional Institution Annex: On September 1, Inmate Craig Butler (M54340) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the knee area. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Desoto Annex: On September 2, Inmate Darious Lovette (C91066) assaulted an officer by grabbing his shirt. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On September 2, Inmate Aaron Beardsley (U19346) assaulted an officer by grabbing their shirt and attempting to drag them into a cell. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On September 3, Inmate Demetrius Jackson (B09146) assaulted an officer by grabbing their wrist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On September 3, Inmate Sir Graham (B12756) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the shin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted superficial injuries.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On September 3, Inmate Antonio Fiddemon (L52594) assaulted officers by biting and striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Florida State Prison: On September 4, Inmate Shaquille Lynch (V37277) assaulted an officer by grabbing their arm and pulling them into a cell. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Reception and Medical Center: On September 5, Inmate Rishard Brown (X64139) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On September 5, Inmate Richard Holt (C05062) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Reception and Medical Center: On September 5, Inmate Michael Moss (G26930) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On September 5, Inmate Quinton Russell (T19411) assaulted an officer by striking them in the head with a chain. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.
