FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | October 11, 2023 – October 17, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Wakulla Annex: On October 11, Inmate David Shaw (E04577) assaulted an officer by throwing a food tray at them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On October 11, Inmate Mark Vazquez (M04624) assaulted an officer by scratching their hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On October 11, Inmate Robert Ward (P31629) assaulted an officer by striking them in the head multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On October 11, Inmate Richard Bryson (132395) assaulted officers by grabbing their arm and pulling their hand through a door. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Lake Correctional Institution: On October 11, Inmate James McCallister (273827) assaulted a staff member. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On October 12, Inmate Clayton Combs (Y54197) assaulted two officers by kicking one in the knee and one in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On October 12, Inmate Vashon Faison (309794) assaulted two officers by striking them in their face and head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Annex: On October 12, Inmate Elvis Pino (B05778) assaulted an officer by pushing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On October 13, Inmate Eugene Harriell (K57508) assaulted two officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On October 13, Inmate Ryan Cunningham (B04603) assaulted an officer by striking them in the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Hardee Workcamp: On October 13, Inmate Jacob Spaunburg (V52571) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On October 13, Inmate Franklin Nelson (N28837) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Century Correctional Institution: On October 14, Inmate Norris Hudson (893331) assaulted an officer by pushing their arms. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Taylor Correctional Institution: On October 14, Inmate Devon Butler (T88939) assaulted a staff member by grabbing their wrists. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Lowell Annex: On October 14, Inmate Shy Bradley (157067) assaulted two officers by scratching them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Walton Correctional Institution: On October 15, Inmate Timmy Pilgreen (Q16099) assaulted officers by striking them with a closed fist and pushing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Suwannee Annex: On October 15, Inmate Paul Free (U22387) assaulted officers by kicking them in the hip. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On October 15, Inmate Devon Ingle (J55634) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Desoto Annex: On October 15, Inmate Manuel Cruz (F92052) assaulted an officer by shoving them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On October 17, Inmate Jaron Isaac (J36390) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On October 17, Inmate Khalil Sheppard (I52518) assaulted an officer by throwing a mattress at them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Dade Correctional Institution: On October 17, Inmate Kevin Yates (967785) assaulted three officers by striking them in the face and wrestling with them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On October 17, Inmate Darrell Matthews (T53282) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On October 17, Inmate Fiando Touissant (B14538) assaulted an officer by grabbing their shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
