FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC Assault Advisories | October 18, 2023 – October 24, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Lancaster Workcamp: On October 18, Inmate Alejandro Ortiz (Q20543) assaulted officers by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On October 18, Inmate Timmy Pilgreen (Q16099) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the abdomen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Columbia Correctional Institution: On October 18, Inmate Desmond Fulton (E56976) assaulted an officer by biting them on the finger. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On October 18, Inmate Ja Vonta Ford (G80575) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On October 18, Inmate Jason McNair (I04581) assaulted an officer by grabbing and pulling them by the waist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Homestead Correctional Institution: On October 18, Inmate Marvisha McGregor (H80062) assaulted an officer by hitting them in the eye. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

South Florida Reception Center: On October 19, Inmate Nelson Borrero (I91770) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On October 19, Inmate Ben Turrell (N02979) assaulted an officer by striking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On October 19, Inmate Andre Parks (X50727) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face and upper torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On October 19, Inmate Calvin Hill (G23799) assaulted officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Central Florida Reception Center: On October 19, Inmate Kanielas Byrd (Y41674) assaulted an officer by shoving them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Annex: On October 19, Inmate Christian Gomez (K40016) assaulted an officer by grabbing and pulling their arm inside a door. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff noted injuries.

South Florida Reception Center: On October 20, Inmate Larry Young (W44573) assaulted officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On October 20, Inmate Connor Wolfe (S41986) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On October 20, Inmate Shawn Stuller (P43632) assaulted a staff member by grabbing their buttocks. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On October 22, Inmate Nicholas Gurnavage (134760) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On October 23, Inmate Lashawn Jones (M80577) assaulted a staff member. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On October 23, Inmate Roosevelt Booth (S29776) assaulted an officer by pushing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: On October 23, Inmate Nathanael Daniel (W81781) assaulted an officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On October 23, Inmate Jeramiah Simmions (V81748) assaulted an officer by pushing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On October 24, Inmate Thomas Schaffer (C06550) assaulted an officer by striking them in the back. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

South Florida Reception Center: On October 24, Inmate Marques Daniels (E91593) assaulted an officer by grabbing their wrist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Columbia Correctional Institution: On October 24, Inmate Damond Talley (R84194) assaulted an officer by striking their lower body with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
