FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | November 1 – November 8, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Florida State Prison: On Wednesday, November 8, inmate Tyris Hawkins (G21150) assaulted two correctional officers. The incident was captured on camera.

Century Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, November 8, inmate Charles Daniels (J71670) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing their arm. The incident was captured on camera.

Cross City Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, November 8, inmate Janvar Singleton (473808) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing the officer.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, November 7, inmate Hughton Heath (L55228) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Quincy Annex: On Tuesday, November 7, inmate Alexander Larry (U30666) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a food tray and striking the officer with food in the upper right leg. The incident was captured on camera.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, November 7, inmate Terell Tillman (C30160) assaulted a staff member by grabbing their genitalia.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, November 7, inmate Odell Lee (K79438) was being counseled by a correctional officer when the inmate assaulted the officer’s facial area and upper torso. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida State Prison: On Monday, November 6, inmate Seab Hixson (X63280) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On Monday, November 6, inmate Malcolm Tillman (B4102) assaulted a correctional officer by lunging his shoulder into the officer’s chest. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Monday, November 6, inmate Tevin Rodriguez (D71901) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a food tray and drink at the officer, striking the officer in the face and body. The incident was captured on camera.

Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On Sunday, November 5, inmate Carl Williams (A72054) assaulted a correctional officer by attempting to choke the officer. The inmate wrapped their arms around the neck of the officer with handcuffs, while being escorted to the inmate’s cell. The incident was captured on camera.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 4, inmate Kiko Rogers (B06280) assaulted a correctional officer by striking them in the head. The incident was captured on camera.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 4, inmate Joseph Morgan (F60312) assaulted multiple correctional officers. The inmate proceeded to stab an officer’s right forearm with a pen, bite the right hand of an officer, scratch an officer’s eye and scratch an officer’s chest. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 4, inmate Carl Telusma (Y56467) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a dustpan at the officer and striking the officer’s right leg. The incident was captured on camera.

Union Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 4, inmate Robert Powell (709158) assaulted a correctional officer by head-butting them in the mouth. The incident was captured on camera.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 4, inmate Zachary Thomas (G26350) assaulted a correctional officer by striking them in the facial area with a clenched fist. The incident was captured on camera.

Suwannee Correctional Institution Annex: On Friday, November 3, inmate Isaiah Anthony (A21264) assaulted a correctional officer by slamming the officer’s arm into a door. The incident was captured on camera.

Columbia Annex: On Friday, November 3, inmate Davon Church (T65423) assaulted a correctional officer by elbowing the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Friday, November 3, inmate Timothy Carlo (644126) assaulted a correctional officer by punching them in the face.

South Florida Reception Center: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Walter Wright (B04096) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing the officer while exiting through a door. The incident was captured on camera.

South Florida Reception Center: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Malique Ham (I82004) assaulted a correctional officer by following them into a restroom and grabbing the officer’s arm.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Rico Hawkins (J42010) assaulted multiple correctional officers. The inmate bit the left shoulder of an officer, grabbed and squeezed an officer’s scrotum and harmed another officer’s forearm.

Florida State Prison: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Deante Smith (P51294) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s left wrist and pulling it. The incident was captured on camera.

Gadsden Re-Entry: On Thursday, November 2, while searching the property of inmate Allen Taylor (P05232), a correctional officer was exposed to an unknown substance that tested positive for methamphetamines.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Alford Charles (P37777) assaulted a correctional officer by head-butting the officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Thursday, November 2, inmate Willie Whitehead (139454) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a tray, striking the officer with food during chow time. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, November 1, inmate Christopher Powell (Q14462) assaulted a correctional officer by head-butting the officer in the face.

Santa Rosa Annex: On Wednesday, November 1, inmate Christopher Powell (Q14462) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer in the chest. The incident was captured on camera.
