FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | November 9 – November 15, 2023

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Walton Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, November 15, inmate Antuan Scott (N09135) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s hand. The incident was captured on camera.

Hamilton Annex: On Wednesday, November 15, inmate Jose Juarez (A10886) assaulted a correctional officer by punching the officer on the right side of the head.

South Florida Reception Center: On Wednesday, November 15, inmate Brandon Mccray (F91814) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Lowell Annex: On Wednesday, November 15, inmate Jamie Selkey (U22688) assaulted a correctional officer while the officer was standing in front of the holding cell. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida State Prison: On Tuesday, November 14, inmate Kwamane Silas (D56709) assaulted a correctional officer while the officer was escorting the inmate. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, November 14, inmate Todd Warthen (I11370) assaulted a correctional officer, hitting the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.

Lowell Annex: On Tuesday, November 14, inmate Teresa Phan (N70038) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Reception and Medical Center: On Tuesday, November 14, inmate Bryan Taylor (P50492) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the head.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On Monday, November 13, inmate Alan Hoffenden (X19725) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s collar. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Monday, November 13, inmate Cordell Allen (C02348) assaulted a correctional officer while being escorted, striking the officer in the legs. The incident was captured on camera.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, November 12, inmate Alphonso Young (H53129) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face.

Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex: On Sunday, November 12, inmate Meshac Abentego (617019) assaulted a food service employee by pushing them. The incident was captured on camera.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, November 12, inmate Omar Simmons (S18613) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s hand. The incident was captured on camera.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On Sunday, November 12, inmate Keena Bacon (E35097) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a food tray at the officer’s face. The incident was captured on camera.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 11, inmate Eduardo Vargas (L61184) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the back of the head. The incident was captured on camera.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 11, inmate Kelvin Hagins (630289) assaulted a correctional officer by shoulder bumping the officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Saturday, November 11, inmate Cecongie Bradwell (E29997) assaulted a correctional officer by biting the officer’s finger. The incident was captured on camera.

Sago Palm Re-Entry: On Saturday, November 11, inmate Michael Irrizarry (L90883) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s waist.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Friday, November 10, inmate Eric Brown (T76315) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face, upper torso, right arm and leg. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Thursday, November 9, inmate Tyriq Thompson (C91160) assaulted a correctional officer. This incident was captured on camera.

Lowell Correctional Institution: On Thursday, November 9, inmate Tiana Tilghman (K88300) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Wakulla Annex: On Thursday, November 9, inmate Antonio Aviles (V44689) assaulted five correctional officers by striking the officers with a locker and clenched fists. The incident was captured on camera.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On Thursday, November 9, inmate Juan Borom (V61975) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Reception and Medical Center: On Thursday, November 9, inmate John Goepferich (H50250) assaulted a correctional officer by punching the officer in the arm.
