FLORIDA CORRECTIONAL OFFICER ARRESTED

MALONE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections' (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrest of former correctional officer sergeant Arenthius Blakely. Blakely is charged with unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, introduction of contraband (cannabis marijuana), conspiracy/introduction of contraband.

The following exemptions apply to the redactions:

  • The home addresses, telephone numbers, including cellular and personal pager numbers, social security numbers, dates of birth, and photographs of active or former department employees and/or their spouses and children; places of employment; daycare facilities, and/or schools of active or former department employees’ spouses and children (sections 119.071 (4)(d), F.S. and 945.10(1)(e), F.S.
  • Information “revealing the substance of a confession” by a person arrested until there is a final disposition in the case (section 119.071[2][e], F.S.).
