FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | January 4 – January 10, 2024
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 10, inmate Dequan Turner (A51171) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 10, inmate Antwan Daniels (P45433) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
South Florida Reception Center: On Wednesday, January 10, inmate Troydale Jones (M81632) assaulted a correctional officer by biting the officer’s arm.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 10, inmate Yosmar Poviones (M59416) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Hamilton Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 9, inmate Frantz Fleury (W92168) assaulted a correctional officer by biting the officer.
Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 9, inmate Adrian Cook (A31992) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a food tray at the officer, striking the officer’s arm. The incident was captured on camera.
South Florida Reception Center: On Tuesday, January 9, inmate Markus Dixon (M09731) assaulted a contracted staff member by head-butting the staff member in the chest. The incident was captured on camera.
Wakulla Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 9, inmate David Olmedo (T88582) assaulted a correctional officer by biting the officer’s hand. The incident was captured on camera.
Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Monday, January 8, inmate Angel Rodriguez (E15524) assaulted a contracted staff member while the staff member was counseling the inmate. The incident was captured on camera.
Union Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 7, inmate Joel Hamlar (B16236) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking and striking the officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Century Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 7, inmate Travone Simmons (A41513) assaulted a correctional officer striking the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.
Santa Rosa Annex: On Sunday, January 7, inmate Thomas McDonald (P32743) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a tray and striking the officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Florida State Prison: On Saturday, January 6, inmate Jose Figueroa (V71665) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Calhoun Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 6, inmate Ernest Byrd (024300) assaulted a contracted staff member by grabbing the staff member’s hands.
Liberty Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 6, inmate William Tarlbert (X47740) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing the officer and grabbing the officer’s phone. The incident was captured on camera.
Jackson Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 5, inmate Derek Bell (B06472) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 5, inmate Michael Knotts (D34406) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
