FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | January 25 – January 31, 2024

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Century Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 31, inmate Alexander Howard (W80849) assaulted multiple correctional officers by biting one officer’s arm and grabbing the other officer’s fingers. The incident was captured on camera.

Walton Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 31, inmate Christopher Mercado (V91040) assaulted a contracted staff member by grabbing the employee. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 31, inmates Edward Colton (J55725) and inmate Jacob Sobolewski (E61611) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the cheek. The incident was captured on camera.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, January 31, inmate Asa Cook (E44440) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing the officer.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 30, inmate Derrick Allen (J42039) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, January 30, inmate Clarence Neff (F80931) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On Tuesday, January 30, inmate Triston Johnson (G71785) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Reception Medical Center: On Tuesday, January 30, inmate La-Donte Wilson (132045) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer.

Sago Palm Re-Entry: On Tuesday, January 30, inmate Elton Taylor (B14317) assaulted a correctional officer by swinging a tablet, striking the officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida Women’s Reception Center: On Monday, January 29, inmate Erica Grant (T92323) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.

Suwannee Annex: On Monday, January 29, inmate Craig Eason (195509) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On Monday, January 29, inmate Bobby Jones (N40517) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Mark Davis (Q09246) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, inmate John Marceau (R05835) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer’s shoulder. The incident was captured on camera.

Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Jerry Chambers (Q15468) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Dominic Davis (471373) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Cross City Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Jonathan Wolf (C21936) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Eric Brown (T76315) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida State Prison: On Sunday, January 28, inmate Emanuel Edwards (E37896) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, inmate Daniel Alton (S27759) assaulted two correctional officers by striking one officer in the jaw, and headbutting the other officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, inmate Erick Carter (216698) assaulted a correctional officer.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 26, inmate Frank Freeman (C05958) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face.

Hernando Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 26, inmate Deon Bryant (E37316) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s buttocks. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 26, inmate Zevin Mitchell (M76920) assaulted multiple correctional officers.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On Friday, January 26, inmate Albert Gibson (119148) assaulted multiple correctional officers by pushing the officers in the face and ribs. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida State Prison: On Thursday, January 25, inmate Xavier Khaled (F61395) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.
