Visitor Contraband Interdiction | February 2 - February 8, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Reception and Medical Center: On February 5, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a firearm and 5 rounds of ammunition outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Columbia Correctional Institution: On February 5, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a firearm and 8 rounds of ammunition outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On February 5, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession 37.4 grams of methamphetamine and 35 grams of synthetic marijuana while inside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
