Visitor Contraband Interdiction | February 9 - February 15, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Desoto Annex: On February 12, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 1.6 grams of methamphetamine and 1.8 grams of cocaine while inside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On February 12, staff observed a visitor attempting to pass a package containing 64 grams of amphetamines and 52 strips of Suboxone to an inmate. The visitation was terminated.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On February 12, staff observed a visitor attempting to pass contraband to an inmate while inside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
