Visitor Contraband Interdiction | March 9 - March 15, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On March 11, staff observed a visitor attempting to conceal a package in the restroom for an inmate. The package was recovered from the inmate, which included 18 grams of marijuana. Subsequently, staff discovered the visitor to be in possession of 32 grams of fentanyl during a pat search. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On March 11, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 99.4 grams of methamphetamine and 40 strips of suboxone outside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
