VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | April 4 - April 10 2024

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Polk Work Camp: On Sunday, April 7, visitor Erica Jones was visiting Inmate David Berrian (G62041) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Sunday, April 7, visitor Larry Atwood was visiting Inmate Keith Nolin (030286) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Dade Correctional Institution: On Sunday, April 7, visitor Tysheka Pink was visiting Inmate Leslie Pink (402474) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Sumter Correctional Institution: On Saturday, April 6, visitor Takila Poinsetta was visiting Inmate Samuel Austin (530161) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Taylor Correctional Institution: On Saturday, April 6, visitor Elora McGuire was visiting Inmate Rahzon Demeritte-Fennell (N42210) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 9.4 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.
