Visitor Contraband Interdiction | July 27 – August 03, 2022

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Martin Correctional Institution: On July 30, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of two cell phones inside the institution. The visitation was terminated and the visitor was arrested for introduction of contraband.

Florida State Prison: On August 3, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a handgun, 12 rounds of ammunition in their vehicle outside the institution. Their visitation was terminated.
