Visitor Contraband Interdiction | September 22 – September 28, 2022

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Apalachee East: On September 24, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a package of an unknown substance during a pat search. They admitted to concealing multi-packages on their body. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Wakulla Annex:On September 24, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 2.1 grams of marijuana and strips of suboxone outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Apalachee East:On August 25, staff observed a visitor attempting to pass contraband to the inmate. That included 56 grams of cocaine and 3 grams of methamphetamine. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested for possession of narcotics.

Calhoun Correctional Institution:On September 25, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession a firearm and 12 rounds of ammunition outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.
