FDC Partners with Tallahassee Community College to Host Inmate Program Graduation

WHAT: Media are invited to attend a graduation ceremony for eight inmates who will be recognized for completing the Tallahassee Community College Commercial Vehicle Driving program. This is a great opportunity for media to learn about this new partnership, the training program and how career/technical training positively impacts the lives of inmates as they return to society, thus contributing to public safety.

WHY: Program participation is critical to the rehabilitation of returning citizens. Successful restoration supports the safety and security of communities by reducing the chance of reoffending following release. Programming provides the opportunities for inmates and offenders to rehabilitate and return to their communities with career skills, increasing the readiness and skill of Florida’s workforce.

WHEN: Thursday, April 8, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.

Media should arrive no later than 1:00 p.m. for equipment set up and event briefing.

WHERE: TCC Campus | Student Union Ballroom 444 Appleyard Dr, Tallahassee, FL 32304

Please contact the FDC Office of Communications as soon as possible at (850) 488-0420 or PublicAffairs@FDC.MyFlorida.com for more information and to reserve a media slot for this opportunity. Media attendees will have an opportunity to interview FDC Secretary Mark Inch following the ceremony and film/photograph consenting inmates participating in the event.
