COVID - 19 Related Information
The Florida Department of Corrections and contracted health service providers are committed to protecting the staff and patient populations from risks associated with COVID-19 and other infectious illnesses. As indicated necessary by State health officials and in consideration of CDC guidelines, The Department has the ability to implement measures including but not limited to, temperature screening, issuance of PPE, increase sanitation, and enacting quarantine procedures for patients to mitigate infection risks. Patient services are essential at correctional facilities and staff will be encouraged to take every precaution to minimize risk during the provision of needed services. This has and may include the offering of vaccines intended to mitigate the spread of serious illness. At this time, neither vaccination nor proof of vaccination is required for staff. However, decisions regarding such requirements are set by state, federal, and departmental policy and may change in the future.
